Acta Biochimica Polonica is the official journal of the Polish Biochemical Society.

Founded in 1958, the Polish Biochemical society aims to promote and support all aspects of biochemical research in Poland. To achieve these aims, the Polish Biochemical Society organizes conferences, scientific discussions, meetings, lectures and workshops, and publishes scientific magazines. It also evaluates the situation and needs of biochemistry in Poland and deals with state authorities responsible for scientific policy.

Led by Professor Grzegorz Wegrzyn, Acta Biochimica Polonica (ABP) aims to be the leading journal in the field by publishing open access premier research on enzymology and metabolism, membranes and bioenergetics, gene structure and expression, protein, nucleic acid and carbohydrate structure and metabolism.
